We took this space in a Lake Katherine home from a two-room space to an open floor plan that better suits the entertaining family with small children.  By listening to the clients wants and needs, I was able to re-work the entire layout of the space by opening up the kitchen to the family room and maximize storage.  The space now gives her children space to sit at the countertop to eat breakfast and complete homework, while the family room is a cozy and inviting space.  I moved the TV above the fireplace so my client could watch or listen to the TV from the kitchen.  The fireplace was painted and a reclaimed wood beam was used as the mantle, adding another textural element.  I also added a bar cabinet that is multifunctional.  The furniture is is hypo-allergenic and the fabrics are family friendly.
